An extremely rare look at Florida that Floridians don't even know.

An Intimate Experience For...

Meet your Captain

Florida Native Gil Castillo has been airboating in Florida’s back country waterways for more than 35 years. As a teenager he purchased his first airboat and has been addicted to it ever since. An early childhood fascination of wildlife and nature soon grew into passionate career when just out of high school Gil landed a position with the Seminole Tribe of Florida as a tour guide.  His job was to lead groups of people through reservation properties on outings  designed to educate them about Seminole traditions, their way of life and how they survived off the land. He would take groups of visitors out on large airboats through reservation land in Big Cypress Swamp and teach them about Florida’s Big Cypress ecosystem and how it transitions to the Florida Everglades. As part of his tour, Gil performed educational exhibitions with many species of Florida’s wildlife such as Black Bears, otters and the endangered Florida Panther.

His rattlesnake and alligator shows quickly became crowd favorites and after a half dozen  years with the Seminoles he opened his own set of educational traveling wildlife exhibitions.   His experience and ever increasing knowledge of wildlife and nature landed him several zoo director positions in Florida and Louisiana. To date he operates and performs the most popular of his shows, “The Kachunga and the Alligator Show”. This educational alligator show has been performing throughout the nation and abroad for more than 30 years. Founded on an environmental message and filled with educational information on Florida’s  most infamous creature, it is still one of the most popular and sought after exhibitions in festivals, fairs and theme parks throughout the nation. In his off season of traveling and performing, Gil spends most of his time on his airboat or chartering offshore fishing.  With   years and countless hours spent on Florida rivers and swamps he has gained considerable knowledge of some of the State’s most beautiful, pristine and scenic areas. Gil now shares his knowledge and experiences with those individuals that have a love for nature and the great outdoors.   His intimate, off the grid routes though some of Florida’s uncharted and   breathtaking places will be forever revered as one of your favorite and most memorable adventures.

“If you are a nature lover, if you are a wildlife enthusiast, if you are an outdoor adventurer, or if you simple want an experience of a lifetime, I promise this is a trip for you.”
